STRATUM CANADA CLUSTERING SYSTEM

STRATUM was developed by TransUnion for the Canadian market to satisfy certain “use” restrictions of credit bureau data when used for solicitation purposes. STRATUM is a k-means cluster model built on aggregated credit bureau data. Data was aggregated at the postal code level and the clusters were overlaid with non-model aggregated credit data as well as lifestyle and demographic data from Gen5. Using both credit and demographic information, one may use STRATUM for prospect selection, cross- or up-selling, or a variety of other objectives.

Ken will walk us through the reasons for creating STRATUM and the development process as well as discuss general uses for the model.
