Congratulations to Walter Craig, who has been elected Fellow of the American Mathematical Society! The distinction of AMS Fellow is in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the creation, exposition, advancement, communication, and application of mathematics.
Congratulations to Chung Pang Mok, who has received an Early Researchers Award from the Provincial Government for his research program on periods of automorphic representations.
Recently the activist group Anonymous accessed without authorization, some information contained on a server hosting the Department of Mathematics and Statistics web site. Most of the information copied was old, and in many cases, already publically available. No credit card information or passwords were disclosed. There was limited disclosure of information such as employee numbers and, to a lesser extent, usernames. The University Secretariat has sent a notification to those individuals whose personal information was disclosed.
